Creating the RMT App

We initially worked with RMT to launch their new website, designed to meet the evolving demands and requirements of a very diverse audience. The next stage was to drive RMT’s digital improvement program and enable the union to better connect with their audiences. To achieve that, we utilised our innovative technology to create an integrated native member engagement mobile app for RMT. It was specifically designed to mobilise the RMT union members through biometric functionality, campaigns, push notifications and a designated members area.

The results

Within the first week of launching, 50,000 members downloaded the new app. The initial sign up numbers exceeded expectations, pushing it to the top of the app store. Due to popular demand, there are already numerous additional updates planned which will include a digital membership card, remote voting and other value-added features for members.

The app has been directly linked with a significant uplift in the number of followers on RMT's social networking channels and has contributed to increases in monthly average web and newsletter engagements. More broadly, the data driven approach demonstrated by the RMT app can save organisations valuable resources and optimise the investment made into existing systems, content and communications strategies, as well as enabling a wider and more immediate connection with members.
