ClearCourse's story so far

From a standing start in 2018, ClearCourse has acquired more than 30 businesses. Today we employ over 900 people and serve 20,000+ customers.

The ClearCourse story begins in 2018 in a small London office, where a handful of people had secured investment from US-based private equity partners, Aquiline.

We had a plan to buy, build, grow and develop the best small to medium-sized software businesses for predominantly UK markets, while at the same time developing our payment platform, ClearAccept.


A key driver of the multi-million pound development was to offer our customers a future-proofed payment option that could scale alongside their business. We also wanted to provide easily accessible and world-class customer service – something that might not always be available from larger payment providers.

Progress to date

With our payment solution plan finalised, our mergers and acquisitions team went to work, identifying brands and businesses that we would be proud to have in our portfolio of companies. Just five years later, we have completed over 30 acquisitions and had grown our revenue close to £80m.


Much of this growth was achieved during the pandemic, which is a testament to the resilience of our teams and their people. We believe it also speaks to the confidence, leadership and guidance provided by the ClearCourse central team, our investors, partners and suppliers.

ClearCourse's future

Our mission is to help our customers build great businesses with our industry-specific software and embedded payments solutions. We will continue investing in our existing products and people while adding other companies to our portfolio, ensuring they and their customers benefit from working better together.
